Look Beyond is a community-activated, dance-based research installation conceived by Choreographer Meshi Chavez. This event includes multiple formations of artistic processes, audience participation, and a sound score created by Adrian Hutapea. Look Beyond investigates dance’s interconnected and slippery nature by inviting participants to become its movers while maneuvering in the darkness. Join me as we ignite the space between research and performance. Together we move toward the unfixing of dance through an experience of working to make visible the unseen movement between dance and the lived experience of dance makers as a site of value. 

 Accessibility Notes: When reserving tickets for Look Beyond, here are some things to consider. This event is dependent on audience participation. There are no spectators in this work. Everyone present is involved in the activation of the event. Look Beyond takes place almost entirely in the dark. Participants will need to be able to navigate through an unlit space in and around others. If you are concerned about your ability to participate, please contact Meshi Chavez or Subashini Ganesan-Forbes and we will brainstorm how to make it possible for you to participate.

TIMED ENTRANCE EACH EVENING - 7:00pm. 7:30pm, 8:00pm and 8:30pm. (Max 8 people per session)
